El Rincon Cultural
As part of my senior thesis, I created a comprehensive branding system for an organization called El Rincon Cultural. The primary objective of this organization is to provide assistance to Latin American students who have moved to the United States to pursue higher education. El Rincon Cultural aims to help these students overcome the challenges that come with relocating to a new country, such as adapting to a new language, coping with homesickness, feeling of alienation, and other issues like language barriers and culture shock. The support programs offered by the organization are designed to help these students adjust to their new surroundings and feel more comfortable in their new environment. El Rincon Cultural's ultimate aim is to enable these students to reach their educational goals and flourish in their new environment.
The design concept for the organization draws inspiration from Latin American embroidery. The richness and variety in this kind of embroidery aligns well with the purpose of the organization, as it showcases the colorful and vibrant cultures of each Latin American country and its people. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, embroidery is also a fitting choice for the organization as it embodies the values of community and togetherness. El Rincon Cultural aims to connect people from all walks of life, and the art of embroidery serves as a powerful symbol of this connection by fostering a sense of community among students who may be seeking it.
